The Dust Jacket Summary
The SunLit Tome was inspired by the collection of literary magazines I built up from entering writing contest after writing contest, hoping for that eventual win. Most of these contests offered a subscription of their sponsoring lit mag as part of the entry fee. While I enjoyed leafing through each of these volumes, they still felt underutilized somehow. There was more for me to do with them. So why not review them?
The idea for the rest of the blog trickled down from there. I've always enjoyed the literary arts and tried to go to as many of these events as I found out about them. My alma mater hosts a few that were open to public, and even as an alumnus I try to attend to them. I love open mics, readings, plays, and their ilk.
In appreciation of all things literary, I want to have my hand in building up the literary community throughout the Internet and Tampa Bay/St. Petersburg, the area I call home. This is my personal endeavor at that.

Introduction to the Tome's Author
I'm Ashley ("Ashi"), and writing has been a lifelong endeavor for me. I live and grew up in Florida's Tampa Bay area, though sometimes I think about the New York I was born in but moved from before I can concretely remember. I graduated from my high school's Academy of Journalism program and earned my Bachelor of Arts double majoring in Communication and Writing. I was most recently employed at a media research company, first as a Survey Writer and lastly a Quality Assurance Editor. You can read more about me and my SLT manifesto here.
And Her Partner
Stephanie is my college-days cohort. We met at an Anime Club club meeting after she approached me and asked, "So you like anime guys with glasses too?" A friendship was born.
A fellow Writing major and play enthusiast, she comes with me to several art events. This surprise blog partnership happened when I was covering my first event for SLT. I was too nervous to go up to the stage director and some of its cast to ask if it was okay I cover the show and take pictures, and she pushed me forward. Moral support goes a long way, even beyond the photos she snaps, the questions she thinks to ask the staff and performers to help me mine more content, the proofreading she does so my writing isn't rife with grammatical errors, and now the occasional articles she writes with insights even more astute than my own. I've struggled to find the right term to accurately describe all she does for me in this project. Her previous title of "Contributor" wasn't giving her enough credit. I decided on "Partner" because really, that's what she is, not just on this project but as a friend with similar interests. For everything else she assists with, she has all my thanks.
